Easter = Hope
One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed
(Chorus)
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me
Chorus
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose over death He had conquered
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again
Chorus
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine
~Casting Crowns~
Easter is it people! This is why we have hope. Without Easter there is no life after death. Without Easter there is no ressurection which means Jesus' death on the cross was pointless. Thank God for Easter! What a brilliant plan!
MATTHEW 28: 1-8
Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary cme to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And the guards shook with fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know you seek Jesus who was crucified". "He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come see the place where the Lord lay. "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you." So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

curious baby
I have found it impossible not to compare my girls. Not in a 'who is better' way, but in an 'its amazing' way. Its fun to discover the ways they are alike and different. Now that Miley has become an expert crawler we have noticed a huge difference.
Presley never seemed to pay attention to things like electric sockets for example. We put plastic baby-proof covers over them of course but it wasn't until she was around 3 she started asking questions about them and we told her monsters lived in there and if she put her finger in it they would bite her. We never had a problem and she still tells kids not to stick their fingers in or they too will get bit. Miley on the other hand started off staring at them from her walker and once she learned how to make her walker move, fixated on getting to them. Luckily she hasn't stuck her finger in and after using the vacuum ect we quickly replace the cover.
We never put those baby proof latches on our cabinets because Presley never payed any attention. We actually put a rubber band around the cabinet under the sink that holds household cleaners just as a deterrent in case she ever got any bright ideas. She never did. Miley attempts to open every cabinet and drawer in the house. So welcome home baby proof latches!
Presley never put small objects in her mouth. People would constantly warn, 'oh no be careful there are small pieces down there' and of course I would watch her carefully and she would pick things up and fiddle with it and move on, it never went in her mouth. Then there is Miley. She crawls around with a radar that detects every small object and immediately sticks it in her mouth. Her favorite...dog food. After the dogs eat we have to put the dog food bowl on the counter or the radar goes off.
She is a busy girl. A very curious, busy girl.

Rough week
Miley had a rough week. Tuesday while I was at work Mom was here watching the girls and while outside Lucy was on her lead and tripped Mom. She fell holding Miley. She caught her and she didn't hit the ground but grazed her face in the grass. I'm sure Mom is more physically and emotionally scarred by the event than Miley. Her poor little face looked like she had been playing in a briar bush. Luckily baby skin regenerates at an incredible rate.
Later that same night Presley picked Miley up and dropped her on her face on the kitchen floor. Then immediately attempted to pick her up from her fall and dropped her again. A 2 for 1 special. She left that incident with two goose eggs to the forehead.
Thursday night Miley was playing in the floor and apparently attempted to eat the back of a fake tattoo. I saw her turning red and drooling and realized she was choking. I turned her upside down and hit her on the back many times and even did the taboo finger sweep several times and it wasn't working. Unfortunately I have done infant Heimlich many times and solids usually come up with the second back slap. I was starting to panic and turned her over to do chest compressions and Lucas realized the paper had come out on that last back slap. By far the scariest incident yet. Every parent should know basic CPR and the Heimlich maneuver!! http://www.redcross.org/
Last but certainly not least; I put Miley to sleep in her swing without buckling her. We do this often but clearly she is now too big for that. She woke up and I assume leaned forward and fell out! I heard her hit the floor. She cried and was not as easy to console as usual. So again I started to panic. In situations like this I eventually have to talk to myself, and convince myself to think like a nurse and not a mom. I went through the neuro/trauma checklist in my mind and decided to calm down. I really needed an ER nurse to roll their eyes and whisper "she is crazy, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that baby"...of course I never say that about my patients, but you know.
So we are praying for a better week for Miley. Thankful that God designed babies to be resilient and pliable. Of course to look at her you would never know any of this took place...
