Annnnnnnnd she is off...to kindergarten!
Unbelievable, but real.
We prayed and prayed about our school choices and decided to homeschool. For several reasons; 1- my work schedule allows it, 2- i like to teach, 3- we get to keep our five year old at home and enjoy her for longer (before she tuns into a teenager and hates us), 4- its a more flexible schedule and we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to drag her out of bed and out the door, 5- the curriculum is based on the Bible, her history timeline begins with Creation, not evolution. I'm sure there are more but these are the main ones. We are going to take school one year at a time and re-evaluate. If it turns out to be a disaster we wont do it again next year. Time will only tell. But so far so good. Presley goes to school on Tuesdays from 9-12 where a Tutor introduces the new lessons for the week, then has lunch and playground time. She does History Time Line, History, Science, Math, Grammar, Geography and Latin. She also does art and learns to play the tin whistle. Sounds like a lot but its all laid out for me and it is kindergarten after all. Should we actually make it past elementary school, my kids will need a math tutor. I know a hand full of formulas that are needed in Emergency Medicine and then use a calculator, any more than that and I will not be of much help. So we welcome your prayers. We are excited!
show and tell presentation with Jessie and Woody
(did I mention Brook is her tutor and Juliette is in her class! she couldn't be more pleased)
